Team Training

Well, I am officially 1 week into team training and have another 2.5 weeks left before Regionals and I am absolutely loving it. Being accountable to other people adds an interesting factor into training.

This past weekend we got the chance to test out our ability to strategize and work together to complete a WOD.  In particular I enjoyed the workout we did on Saturday morning as it included 2 of my favorite movements:

In 25:00
Each team member registers a 3RM OHS + the sum total of 3 sets of max toe-to-bar
You have one rack and one barbell

I almost was able to manage my old 3RM OHS of 110# and for my t2b I did 19-20-20.  I failed on my third rep at 115# once during the 25 minutes and then tried again after the WOD was over and failed again on my third rep.  I was pretty frustrated but I know that I will get it next time I try.

Today we had some HSPU work which felt awesome and I decided to attempt a few HSPU's on the rings after the WOD.  While I couldn't push all the way up I was able to get some movement and I think with a little work I will be able to get one in the relatively near future.

My diet has been completely dialed  in(from normally about 92 to 100 percent paleo) and I plan for it to stay that way until Regionals.  I have been thinking a lot about the eating habits people form after someone in one of my on-ramp classes asked what I ate for breakfast.  When I told them my breakfast normally consists of leftovers, meat or occasionally eggs they seemed a little shocked and said they couldn't do it because they need to have "breakfast food"(something I hear fairly often).   I tried to explain that "breakfast food" is all a state of mind that has been perpetuated by advertising. When was it decided that cereal and toast were staples of a healthy breakfast? If you don't already eat meat for breakfast I challenge you to try for the next week.
